Wine Tourism

Wine tourism in Burgundy

Wine tourism forms a major part of the Château de Chasselas’ business activities. The Château has many assets to its name in this regard: a prestigious, historic site, a beautiful setting, spacious grounds, top-quality facilities, a wide range of services (catering, tours, wine-tasting, wine sales…), owners who are very much open to the outside world and fluent French and English speakers.oenotourisme-bourgogne-du-sud

A remarkable room

There is nothing quite like our old banqueting hall anywhere in the region. It can seat up to 90 people for wine-tasting sessions. We can organize lunch here in the shape of a cold buffet with an opportunity to sample the Estate’s wines, or, as an alternative, we host simple wine-tasting sessions with an optional light lunch. The owners provide a running commentary, in French or English.oenotourisme-bourgogne-du-sud

Introduction to the Estate

In addition to a journey through the vineyard, past, present and future, we introduce our visitors to the Estate by way of a brief overview of the history of the village and the Château. Next we examine the Château de Chasselas through the prism of the wines it produces and in the light of its two-fold Beaujolais-Burgundian identity, which adds another layer of interest to the Estate. Then we visit the vat room before finishing off the tour at the shop.

Wine-tasting and wine sales

Once in the shop, your clients will have the chance to taste other wines in addition to those they may have sampled during their lunch.
One of the Château de Chasselas’ strong points is that it does not confine itself to wines produced on the Estate, but sells a range of universally-acclaimed AOC wines like “Pommard” and “Saint-Amour”.
